On Monday July 28, we boarded the Seven Seas Mariner in Reykjavik for the cruise you see in the map above, with the exception that the second port in Iceland was changed from Eskifjordur to Djupivogur. This was a wonderful itinerary through a variety of Celtic lands, finishing at Le Havre, France, allowing for several more days in France.
The Seven Seas Mariner is a gorgeous cruise ship and we spent the next day at sea, before anchoring at Djupivogur, a small port town on the east coast of Iceland. We did not book any excursions that day, so we wandered around town, hiked up a small hill for some views and ate a leisurely lunch in the town's lovely little hotel. Then it was onto the tender back to the ship and on towards the Faroe Islands!
